LA Gallery Opening
I can feel that 2020 has so much in store for me already. I’ve been so occupied trying to get my business off the ground and set up my studio, and in the midst of this I had the greatest reminder of what it is all for. Being a part of the grand opening show at The Mark gallery in LA was such a great experience. It was one of the first times I’ve been able to really show all of my sculptural work! (Aside from in university exhibitions). And the feedback was so overwhelming. I sold about half of my work, and it was the first time my sculptural work has been seen outside of a university setting (which was a bit nerve wracking). Getting so much positive feedback, and so many people who were
drawn to my sculptures was truly the best feeling. All of the pieces shown were made over a year ago while i was in university, so it was exciting to get to talk about them again and remind myself how passionate I am about sculpture. It all felt very refreshing, I kind of had an “oh yeah” moment, remembering how exciting it feels show my work , and it made me so eager to create more work to share with you all. My studio is still in the works, and I’m getting closer to a finish line (its been such a process), but its nice to feel that when it finally comes that I know I’ll be ready to create.
