Baby's First Pop Up
Still feeling so so lucky to have had my first pop up exhibition in my favorite city. Tokyo is so vibrant and full of art, and it was such a blessing to be a part of that for a moment. With the help of my good friends, I had a small pop up show at a cafe in Shibuya. So many friends came out to see and it was so fun! Luckily the weather was perfect that day, as earlier in the week the forecast said rain. Would have been a huge bummer, but the sun was shining and so many people showed up to see my work. Almost everything sold and I was so over the moon. Since the show was set up in an outdoor area, lots of people came from off the street, and it was so lovely to meet new people. I met a few people who said they have done ceramics before, and I realized how much I love (and sort of miss) being around people who are passionate about the same things as I am! Being in university, I was constantly around peers who were pursuing a similar goal and creating art side by side.
I am very eager to get back to doing what I love once I find a studio back in LA. But for now it was equally fulfilling seeing people enjoy my work and want to take it home! I had so many friends who would buy a mug and tell me they will use it every day! Seriously, everything I could hope for. I feel so blessed to be surrounded by friends who are so supportive and passionate about my work, and who help me to achieve my dreams. Very excited to share some of the things I made my last semester at uni, and so so looking forward to making new things in a new environment.
